on complementary and integrative medicine.

Lixing Lao, PhD, LAc will present:
Acupuncture for Chronic Pain: History, Evidence-based Practice, and Safety
Dr. Lao will give a brief overview on the history of acupuncture in its origin China and its development in the US. The evidence-based principles that applied to evaluate the risks and benefits associated with acupuncture therapy will be discussed. Dr. Lao will also speak about the scientific bases for acupuncture and how acupuncture and Chinese medicine can be incorporated into patient care on a daily basis. A mini-workshop to learn useful acupressure points may be provided.
