UM SOM: Integrative Medicine

Individual and family
psychotherapy/counseling services

Description

Individual, couple, and family counseling is offered to enhance coping skills, resiliency and wellbeing in the face of significant medical or life issues. Counseling can be especially helpful for those with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, stress-related illnesses, fatigue, loss, caregiver issues, life transitions, and difficult decisions to make. Building on the inherent strengths of our clients, we use approaches from cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, behavioral medicine, and acceptance-based (mindfulness-based) psychotherapies.
