Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)/ Mindfulness-Based Stress Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) groups

Descriptionmeditation

Mindfulness – Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) are both 8-week groups designed to transform your relationship to stress, improve coping, and increase your enjoyment of life.  They run twice a year, in the spring and fall.

The group consists of eight weeks of 2 ½ hour sessions (first and last class are 3 hours) with one full day retreat.  Sessions are highly participatory and practical.

The group includes:
  • Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices to decrease stress and increase coping skills
  • Information about stress, stress symptoms and their causes
  • Application of mindfulness skills to challenging situations in everyday life
  • Group discussion to enhance integration of class material
  • Daily at-home practice (20-45 minutes per day) with specially designed materials
The next groups will be held during Fall 2008. Please inquire for more information.
